statement:

"During the past thirty years, I have challenged myself with the medium of serigraphy, for it to be an art form in itself, an "original" in multiples, neither a monotype nor a reproduction.

I find I have barely scratched the surface of this "ancient" process, which lends itself well to experimentation. From the straightforward application of ink to paper through standard stencils, I have explored the addition of 3-dimensional cut outs, acetate overlays, various and textured materials to print on as well as simple collage elements to express my ideas of the beauty around me.

I am a colorist and serigraphy allows me to use bold and opaque or subtle and transparent pigments so that a balance of form, line and color is attained. I am a colorist and serigraphy allows me to analyze and reduce my palette so that an elegant simplicity is achieved.

My technical expertise grows, making future developments of this unusual and beautiful medium possble...and exciting!"
